
Robert Jarvis, 79, of Mansfield, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at his residence. Born August 27, 1931, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of Denver and Elizabeth L. Hutchler Jarvis. A veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War, Robert was a drywall contractor and helped build the Wheeling Tunnel in Wheeling, WV. An avid coon hunter, which he loved to talk about, he won the world title in coon hunting. Robert was a kind hearted man who loved to joke and enjoyed wood working.
He is survived by three daughters, Joyce, Nancy Paul and Pam; a son, Robert Carrie; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn and Ruth Ann; a brother, Garrett Lee; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and close friends, Stan and Bonnie, Joe, Steve and Lisa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Madge.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield. There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
