
Surviving are his wife, Beverly McPherson of Lexington; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian Scott and Lynn McPherson of Bellville, Ohio; two granddaughters, Victoria and Alexandria McPherson both of Bellville, Ohio and three step-children, Susan Grant; David Nixon and Donald Nixon. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Mary Elizabeth McPherson; his first wife, Mildred Jane McPherson; and one son, Timothy K. McPherson.
Mr. McPherson retired first from the Autocall Co. in Shelby, Ohio after 35 years of service. He has since been active as a consultant to Grinnell Systems in Westlake, Ohio, whom purchased Autocall. He belongs to the signaling and communications section of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association and served on the National Fire Protection Association Fire Alarm Standards Committee since 1969, and has been active in creating the National Fire Alarm Code published by the NFPA. Mr. McPherson belonged to the Intercity Amateur Radio Club, the Mansfield Amateur Radio Emergency Repeater and the Quarter Century Wireless Association. He received his Amateur Radio license from the FCC back in 1948.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services held at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Burial will be held at a later date.
