He was a 1942 graduate of Ashland High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Robert retired from the United States Postal Service and had also driven bus for Ashland City Schools. He was an active member of Grace Brethren Church where he was involved with the Builders ABF Class, the Choir, was an Elder and was also a member of the All Ohio Boys Band. He was on the "The Price is Right" show in 1985 where he had won the showcase.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Linda Plice of Polk; two daughters, Denise Holloway of Franktown, Colorado and Darla Plice of Ashland; three grandchildren, Ryan (Emily), Bethany and Ella Plice (Mike) Waggoner; great grandchildren, Riley, Asher, Ryder and Wyatt Plice; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Plice; and two brothers, Harold and Richard Plice.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at Grace Brethren Church conducted by Pastors Dan Allan and Norm Johnson. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or Grace Brethren Church.
