
Robert R. Pryor, 102 died Saturday evening October 21, 2000 at the Lexington Court Care Center. Mr. Pryor was born 1898 in Volcano, West Virginia to Otto & Anna Shingleton Pryor coming to Akron at an early age. He was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and an Ordained Baptist Minister. He worked in the Akron, Mansfield, Johnsville and Chesterville School areas in the maintenance dept., also working twelve years at Mansfield Memorial Homes before retiring.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ken Pryor of FL; Bernard & Maxine Pryor of Mansfield; five daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Reish of AZ, Bonnie & Robert Pore and Bernice Jewell both of FL, Beulah Clair and Belva Harfman both of Mansfield; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Pryor of Mansfield; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pryor was the last member of his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Harris Pryor in 1986; one son Robert Jr.; a daughter, Justine; two grandsons; one granddaughter; four brothers; and four sisters.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Monday, October 23, 2000 from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. O. Douglas Tackett of the Taylor Town Community Church and assisted by Mr. Pryor's grandson Jack Berry. Burial will be held at Shauck Cemetery.
