

Robert "Bob" D. Pugh, 74, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at OhioHealth Riverside Hospital in Columbus. Bob was born in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, to Silas and Ruth (Ravenscraft) Pugh.
He graduated from Salisbury Elk Lick High School in Salisbury, Pennsylvania in 1961. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He excelled in baseball and was drafted as a pitcher by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played baseball for many years, traveling all over Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Ohio in the Penn-Mar League. Bob was an avid softball player, bowler, and golfer. He was able to design and construct just about anything and spent many years on remodeling projects.
Bob's greatest joy was attending his daughters' and grandchildren's athletic and musical events. In later years, he mentored his grandsons in baseball, teaching Doug, Christopher and Matthew to pitch.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dottie Eagle Pugh; four daughters, Lori (Jon), Lisa (Doug), Bobbi, Becky (Dion); step daughter, Michelle (Ron); thirteen grandchildren, Alaina, Christopher, Haili, Katie, Doug, Courtney, Mackenzie, Matthew, Carleigh, Morgan, Brandon, Jenna and LeAnne; brother, Walter "Sonny"; adopted brother, Wayne Ravenscraft; many other family members; and several good friends including his church family. He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Bates officiating. Additional visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
