
Ronald E. Cole, 51, of 294 Pleasant Acres Drive, Portville, NY, died Wednesday morning, September 17, 2003 at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital in Buffalo, New York. He was born September 21, 1951 in Mansfield to Arthur and Mona Sagraves Cole. Ron graduated from Lucas High School in 1970 and The Ohio State University in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He also earned an Associate's of Arts and Bachelor's of Business Administration Degrees from The Ohio State University. Ron was a Mansfield area resident until moving to New York two years ago with his family. He worked as a professional collector for Pioneer Credit Recovery in Arcade, New York. He was a member of First Church of God in Eldred, Pennsylvania, where he served as a youth Sunday School teacher. Ron was an amateur artist and especially enjoyed drawing. He loved sports and enjoyed swing dancing and biking.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Linda Wheaton Cole; a stepson, Aaron Smith of Portville, New York; stepdaughter, Angela Smith of Mansfield; two brothers, R.D. and his wife, Bernice Cole and Vernon Cole, all of Mansfield; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janie and Ron Stamper of Mansfield and Phyllis and Glen Dawson of Lucas, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mona Cole and a sister, Janet Plew.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, September 21 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Pastor James Kazimer, will be held Monday, September 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Donations in Ron's memory may be made to the building fund at First Church of God, 142 S. Main Street, Eldred, Pennsylvania 16731.
