
Ronald A. Copenhaver, 62, of Mansfield, died Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Mansfield MedCentral Hospital. Born August 14, 1943 in Huntington, West Virginia, he was the son of Conrad and Rena Sullivan Copenhaver. He taught Chemistry and Physics at Lucas High School and retired from Vanguard High School after teaching in Marion County, Florida for 33 years.
He is survived by three daughters, Leslie Copenhaver Hanna, Kristen Jean Copenhaver, and Alison Rena Copenhaver; two sons, James Ronald Copenhaver, and Ryan Christopher Copenhaver; grandchildren, Benjamin Tyler Hanna, and Collin Patrick Hanna; son-in-law, Stephen Hanna; brother, Larry Copenhaver; aunt, Elinor Copenhaver; and nephew, Mark Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carol Copenhaver Collins.
A truly caring and adoring father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, and uncle, he was a brilliant and dedicated teacher. He influenced the lives of many students during his 42 year career.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
