
Ronald "Ron" E. Durfee, 62, of Mansfield, died Sunday, January 23, 2011, at MedCentral Mansfield. Born November 19, 1948, in Mansfield, he was the son of Robert E. and Doris Adkins Durfee. He attended Mansfield Senior High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Ron enjoyed dancing, especially line dancing and the two step, and reading the Bible. An avid motorcycle rider, he and his wife, Laura, loved to travel to various places on his bike which was named "So Blessed".
Surviving are his wife, Laura Wagner Durfee; five daughters, Kathy Jim Carsey, Dottie Durfee, Patty Keith Coggin, Amy Durfee, Mandi Dave Eckhard; four sons, Jimmy Marilyn Durfee, Ronnie Shannon Durfee, Mike Tabatha Wagner and David Jane Wagner; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Beverly Schwaner, Mary Larry Sutherland and Edie Clark; two brothers, Roger Durfee and Bobby Chrissy Durfee; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a son, Billy Durfee; a brother, William Durfee; two sisters, Doris Fay Eaton and Evelyn "June Bug" Tenney; and two brothers-in-law who he considered his dear friends, John Schwaner and Danny Eaton.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Memorial funeral services will held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at the funeral home conducted by Brother Brian Phillips.
