Ronald L. Stark Sr.

Ronald is the oldest of four children. As a teenager, he worked in the coal mines before joining the Navy and serving in the Korean War. Ronald met and married his wife, Gail (Schleicher) Stark in Boston and shortly after moved back to Cadiz, OH where he continued to work in the coal mines. From there, he moved to Mansfield, where he was employed at the Ohio State Reformatory as a Steam Boiler Operator for thirty years. He retired in 1992. During this time, he built the family home for his wife and children. He was a Past Master of Marquis Masonic Lodge F & AM. Ronald was also a member of Venus Lodge #152 F & AM Masons. Ronald enjoyed raising beagles as a teenager. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working, tinkering in the garage, making wine and sitting outside enjoying the wildlife.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Gail Stark; three children, Cheryl Stark, Sue Stark and Ronald L (Tammy) Stark II; six grandchildren, Levi Jones, Lindsey (Jerry) Adkins, Cassie Jones, Caleb Studer, Evan Stark, and Owen Stark; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Bill (Goldie) Stark, Lannie "Eddie" (Vickie) Stark; a sister-in-law, Sandy Brewer, and a brother-in-law, Robert Schleicher that he helped to raise; and special friends, Mark Stelzer and Ron Dapper.

Preceding him in death are his parents; a sister, Sally Torchik; and a grandson, Kevin Jacob Stelzer.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A masonic service will take place at 4:00 p.m.
