

Rosa B. Nikolaus, 78, of Mansfield widow of Thelbert Nikolaus died Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield following a brief illness. She was born September, 16, 1921 to Robert & Philomena Bender Baker Sr. in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mrs. Nikolaus retired from Therm-O-Disc as an Executive Secretary. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, a 1939 graduate of Fort Smith, Arkansas High School, Twenty-five year club of Therm-O-Disc and the Madison AARP.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary & Donald Sowash of Mansfield, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie & Debra Nikolaus and David & Karla Nikolaus all of Mansfield, Ohio; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Sowash, James Sowash, Christopher & Julie Nikolaus, Joy & Greg Darling, Valerie Nikolaus, Alexander Nikolaus, Myriah Nikolaus, David Jr. & Michelle Nikolaus, Jeffrey & Tina Nikolaus, Holly & Mark Colangelo; two step-grandchildren, Jessica & Jamie Jolley and Stephen Whitfield; ten great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Baker of Mansfield, Ohio; a niece Linda Hristovski; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Areva & Russell Haldeman of Mt.Gilead, Ohio, Arlene & Ray Brenneman of Lexington, Ohio, Dr. Donald Nikolaus of Palm Harbor, Florida, Dr. Marvin & Doris Nikolaus of Nashville, Tennessee and special friends, Don & Mary Lou Yeager of Ontario, Ohio. Mrs. Nikolaus was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and a sister Margaret Baker.
Friends may call the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, September 1, 2000 from 6-9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday, September 2, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. Lon McSherley. Burial will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
