Rose Deaton

Rose V. Deaton, 68, of Ashland, was called home Monday, September 29, 2008 at Samaritan Regional Health System. Born July 3, 1940, in Aleppo Twp., PA, she was the daughter of James and Olive Leighliter Yoders. She was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal. She retired from Abbot Labs where she was on the Credit Union Committee. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years Junice Deaton; children, Ronald Ruth Deaton of Delphos, OH, Cindy "Sis" Miller, Carol Kitts, and Jeff Kendra Deaton, all of Ashland, and Ken Lisa Deaton of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren, Melissa "Missy", Jason, Tina, Steve, Krista, Mike, Jennifer, Joe, Jerry, Sam, Erin, and Ciara; 13 great-grandchildren; close friends Jane Shoenberger and Brenda Deaton, both of Ashland; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Friends may call Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 3, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Paul Tracy. Burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
