Ruth Chew

Ruth Evelynn Chew, 87, of Mansfield died early Monday morning, September 22, 2003 at the home of her daughter, following a brief illness. She was born December 1, 1915 in Akron, Ohio to John Harvey and Susan Calhoun Sams. Ruth was retired from Ohio Brass where she worked as a timekeeper. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church and a 45-year member of V.F.W. Auxiliary #3494. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, latch hook, making crafts and reading.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Milligan of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Ronda and her husband, Ronald Rehm of Mansfield and Melinda Milligan of Mansfield; two great-grandchildren, Adam and Ashley Rehm of Mansfield; and two sisters-in-law, Marcella Sams and Mary Sams. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Noble, H.Dale, Maynard and Dean Sams.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, September 24 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Cloyd E. Kress will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
