Ruth Murray

Ruth Ellen Murray, 69, of Lucas, died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born April 9, 1944 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of O. Ernest and Edna Mary (Bowser) Chronister. Ruth worked as a local beautician for many years as well as for Montgomery Ward and JoAnn Fabric. An avid seamstress, she liked feeding hummingbirds and traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach and Amish Country. Ruth also enjoyed being on Facebook and Mansfield History. She loved her grandkids and cooking for her entire family.

She is survived by her husband, Rodger Murray of Lucas; son, Randall Murray (Teresa Szustak) of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Ronda (Patrick) Harp of Bellville; grandchildren, Heather and Jared Harp of Bellville; sister, Mary Ann Backman of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Barb (Bliss) Baker of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Darrell Clemons.
