Ruth Ann Sqrow, 86, of Mansfield passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 at her home following a long period of failing health. She was born January 29, 1938 to the late Michael F. and Ruth E. (Karsmizki) Siwek and was a lifelong resident of Mansfield. In fact she lived on the same street her entire life. She was a graduate of Madison High School, Class of 1956.
Ruth loved to travel to Auburn Tigers football games and in earlier years to many NASCAR races with her family. She was an excellent cook and loved to pack a picnic lunch. She was given the nickname “Patty Picnic” by her children. Once travel was no longer an option for her she loved to watch the Hallmark channel and read Harlequin romance novel.
Surviving are her son, Larry Sqrow Jr. of Kettering, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Chris Cates of Mansfield and Lynn and Randy Beck of Lexington. She is also survived by her only granddaughter who was the light of her life, Hayley Beck of Fort Worth, TX and four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kali, Kasey and Kolt. She is also survived by one brother, Michael (Kim) Siwek of Mansfield and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Sqrow Sr. whom she shared 58 years of marriage with and one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and William Keller.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County.
It was Ruth’s wishes that there be no services held.
