Shawn was feisty, highly organized, loving, driven, and determined. She lived her life with strength and purpose, while always making room for the people and things she loved most.
She enjoyed holidays spent with family at home and took great pleasure in hosting and bringing everyone together. Shawn loved to read, with Stephen King novels among her favorites. She found some of her greatest happiness spending time on the water—swimming, fishing, boating, or simply relaxing with a good book and enjoying the peacefulness around her.
Family was at the heart of Shawn’s life. Her greatest joy was her son, and becoming a grandmother brought her another special source of love and happiness. She treasured every moment spent with her beloved family and created memories that will be cherished forever.
Shawn also had a deep love for animals, especially cats. She enjoyed watching birds of all kinds from her home, finding comfort, peace, and great enjoyment in observing the beauty of nature around her. Shawn dedicated many years of her working life to serving her community. She worked with Lexington Schools as a bus driver and later retired from the Treasurer’s Office at Mansfield City Schools.
She will be remembered for her strong spirit, determined nature, loving heart, and the countless ways she brought joy and warmth to those around her. Her love for her family, her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, and the memories she created with those she loved will remain in their hearts always.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Mark Laser; her son, Matthew (Amanda) Laser; her beloved granddaughter, Lucy Laser; her sister, Kelly (Bob) Newman; her brother, Gary Foos; and her nieces and nephews, Andy Siesel, Abbey Siesel, and Ashley (Taylor) Siesel. She also leaves behind her cherished cats and dogs, Peanut, Gizmo, Mocha, and Lola, who brought her endless love, companionship, and joy.
Shawn was preceded in death by her parents.
