

Shelly Danette Boyce-Sumler, 50, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born to Daniel Lee and Shirley Kaye (Boyer) Boyce on April 12, 1968 in Shelby, Ohio.
Shelly graduated from Madison High School in 1986 and went on to attend Bliss Business School. She has held many jobs, from a paper route as a young girl, to her most recent and beloved position with the State of Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation for the past 18 years. A woman of strong faith, she was a regular attendee at Ontario Free Methodist Church. Her strong willed nature saw her through many hardships, including her valiant struggle against cancer for the past four years. Shelly's sweet nature was evident through it all, as she continued to offer her sweet smile to all.
Shelly is survived by her precious children, Cody Russell Boyce and Cheyenne Danette Sumler; her mother, Shirley Kaye Boyce; three aunts, Constance "Connie" Elaine (Bob Eugene) Charles, Della J. (William Clifford) Sampsel, and Marcella June (Jim Reed) Price; one uncle, Glen Albert Boyce, Jr.; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and many very good friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Danny Lee Boyce; one aunt, Bonnie Sue Boyce; and one cousin, Diana Rae Lumadue.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Ontario Free Methodist Church, 2200 Bedford Blvd. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Tony Viscioni will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at the church. Burial be at Myers Cemetery, Shelby, Ohio. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve Shelly's family.
