Sondra Thomas

Sondra A. Thomas, 70, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born January 11, 1937 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Marion A. Smith and Eleanor Cook Baker. Mrs. Thomas worked as a piano teacher and taught many children and adult students. She was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church. A good wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a member of the Ruth Chapter #17 Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard C. Thomas; two daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl D. Lightner of Kansas City, Kansas, and Heidi A. and Richard Pehrson of Chapel House, North Carolina; grandchildren, Erin Cyrus, Eric Cyrus, and Cortney Lightner; and father, Marion A. Smith of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Baker.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors where an Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. David Case. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
