Sonya A. McBride

Sonya graduated from Ontario High School then married and started her career raising her family. While caring for her family, she also tended bar and cooked at Semon's Restaurant and Mama's Touch of Italy. This fit perfectly with her love of cooking and she was especially skilled at creating Italian dishes. Sonya enjoyed gardening and canning her own fruits and vegetables. She loved having people around and was at her best when she was caring for others. Everyone loved Sonya and her compassionate nature was evident in her concern for others.

She is survived by two children, Shelley McBride and Chris (Susan) McBride; two grandchildren, Janel (Mike) Eagan and Elise (Zach) Brummell; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Philomena, Ambrose, Genevieve and Adelaide Eagan; a sister, Patricia (Lynn) Valtinson; and a brother, Michael Sposito. In addition to her parents, Sonya was preceded in death by the father of her children, Richard McBride.

In honoring Sonya's wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time. Following her example of caring for others, memorial contributions may be made to the Richland Mental Health and Recovery Board, 87 East First Street, Suite L, Mansfield, Ohio 44902, to assist those battling depression and allow them to recover and achieve fulfilling lives.
