Stanley G. Schnell, 47, of Ashland, died unexpectedly Friday March 25, 2005. He was born September 30, 1957 in Mansfield, the son of Walter O. and Ilean Hammer Schnell. Stan has left us now to be in peace. He was raised in Mansfield where he was a member of Boy Scouts Troop 212 and had earned his Eagle Status. He then moved with his family to Ashland and graduated from Hillsdale High School. During this time, he met the love of his life, Mary, who survives, and they have three children, Marissa, Jeff, and John Schnell, all of Ashland. Also surviving are three brothers, Larry Schnell of Perrysville, Doug Schnell and his wife, Kandy of Ashland, and Bill Schnell and his wife, Kathleen of Widowville; his father, Walter O. Schnell of Jeromesville, and his mother, Ilean Hammer Schnell of Ashland.
Stan worked at Tri-Mor Corporation until he was diagnosed with M.S. He struggled to maintain a normal lifestyle. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He had a passion for Oldsmobile 442's and would be found helping all who came to him mechanically and thru his inspiring paint work. He will be sadly missed, especially when we pull up to the light and look over and don't see his little grin sitting in his 442.
Services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with Dr. Sanford C. Mitchell officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, March 30, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
