

Stella Maynard, 95, of Mansfield, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born July 10, 1923, in Leck, Virginia, she was one of twelve children of the late Hughey and Lula (Adkins) Stallard.
An area homemaker her entire life, Stella loved to cook and care for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She formerly worked as a volunteer nurse aide at Mansfield General Hospital. Stella was a member of Mansfield Gospel Assembly Church where she previously taught Sunday school and was a student of the Bible. Stella was very patriotic and appreciated the freedom she enjoyed as a citizen of the United States. Gardening, crocheting and sewing were favorite crafts she enjoyed, as well as the challenge of completing crossword puzzles. She had a special place in her heart for cats and dogs and enjoyed their company. She loved to listen to the radio and travel with her husband and children, on fishing trips staying in cabins and exploring nature together.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Kevin) Reeves of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Chad (Jill) Adkins of Mansfield, Chastity (Greg) Cover of Mifflin, Heather Maynard of VA, Stephanie (Jason) Ewers of VA and Crystal Reeves of Marion; nine great-grandchildren, Michael, Joshua (fiancée, Destiny), Faith and Joy Adkins, Angel, Keely, Gregory, Nick (Ashley) and Kyle (fiancée, Brii) Cover; three great-great grandchildren, Serenity Adkins, Bradon Cover, and Lana; a sister, Nella Rhea (Bud) Truex of Mansfield; a brother, Bubbie Don (Ilda) Stallard of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Maynard; son, David Maynard; and nine brothers and sisters, Ellord Stallard, Delma Wright, Ernest Stallard, Monroe Stallard, Emory Stallard, Earl Stallard, Clifford Stallard, J.C. Stallard and Carlos Stallard, who died in WWII.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Mansfield Gospel Assembly Church, 1100 S. Trimble Rd., Mansfield. Pastor Daniel Baer and Brother Don Stallard will conduct the service which follows at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield Gospel Assembly Church or the family. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
