
Stephen Douglas Caudill, 84, of Mansfield, died September 20, 2007 at his home after a long illness. Born February 10, 1923 in Morehead, Kentucky, he was the son of James W. and Maggie Brown Caudill. He retired in 1985 from Copperweld. Mr. Caudill was an active member of Journey Life Center, where he received a Life Time Achievement Award and was the church bus driver. Mr. Caudill was also a self employed carpenter and resident carpenter of the church. He built barns all through Kentucky and was also a foster parent.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Morris Perkins Caudill; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Donna, Thomas and Cynthia, and Gary and Paulina Caudill, all of Mansfield; stepdaughter and caregiver, Missy Ramsey of Mansfield; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; three sisters, Ruby Terrell, Betty Gibson, and Ida Belle Dillon, all of Morehead, Kentucky; and special friend, Noah Prince. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Maxine Perkins Caudill; daughter, Pauline Caudill; foster son, Carl Blakeman; sister, Jewell Bolenbaugh of Aberdeen, Ohio in May of 2007; and several infant brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2007 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Journey Life Center conducted by Dr. Bruce Philippi and Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
