Susanna Gottschling

Susanna Seiler Gottschling, 94, of Mansfield, died Tuesday morning, July 19, 2005, at Lexington Court Care Center after an extended illness. Born August 14, 1910, in Felldorf, Transylvania, Romania, to George and Sara Gross Seiler. She was a Mansfield area homemaker since 1951 and loved singing. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Martin Gottschling, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Martin Jr. and Frieda Gottschling of Mansfield; three daughters and sons-in-law, Susanna and Mike Karst, Sara and Dale Schmid-Mellott, and Elsa and Lee Beer, all of Mansfield; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Peter Gottschling of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son; granddaughter, Juanita Gottschling; grandson, Bill Schmid; one brother; and four sisters.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, July 21, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
