Sylvia Snyder

Sylvia K. Simpson Snyder, 85, of Mansfield, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. Born June 8, 1925 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Harry and Blanche I. Whitcomb Simpson. She attended the Hannah Road Church of God. A very loving and caring person, Sylvia enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music.

She is survived by seven children, Kathy Jerry Thomas, Karen Joe Duffey, Donald Sharon Snyder, Neal Karen Snyder, Kevin Eva Snyder, Arna Ted Goddard, and Thomas Snyder; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Sylvia's special grandchild, friend, and caregiver was Heather, and her daughter, Hannah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Snyder; daughter, Patricia; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; and fifteen brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, conducted by Rev. Floyd Scaggs. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Hanna Road Church of God.
