

Ted was born February 2, 1952, in Irvin, Kentucky, to the late Wilburn Floyd and Hazel Marcum Floyd.
Ted graduated from Kentucky public schools and joined the Army for a brief time, before gaining employment with CSX Railroad where he was employed proudly for 39 years, prior to his illness. Ted loved working for CSX and was always willing to help anyone gain employment with CSX. Ted had an outstanding personality. He never met a stranger; everyone loved Ted. Ted was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan, which he displayed proudly on his Avalanche. He loved to ride and cruise around Mansfield; watching the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State football, Nascar racing and Lifetime; he loved dancing. Ted enjoyed talking to his sister Marilyn daily for hours on the telephone and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Brown) Mason-Floyd; one daughter, Amber Floyd of Dayton, OH; three sons, Teddy G. (Sylvia) Floyd Jr., aka T.G. of Erlanger, KY; twins, Dustin Floyd and David (Crystal) Floyd both of Dayton, OH; two grandchildren, David Floyd Jr. and Kaylee Floyd; Ted is also survived by his step-children, Louis Mason Jr. and Yolanda Lawrence both of Mansfield, OH and Verona Mason-Waddell of Charlotte, NC; nine step-grandchildren including Andrais Lawrence, whom he raised as his own; sixteen step-great grandchildren. Four brothers, Joie Puckett, Rialto, California, Johnny (Linda) Floyd, Park Hills, KY, Paul Reed, Florence, KY and Jeffery (Jodi) Reed of Covington, KY; two sisters, Marilyn Horton, Florence, KY and Dora (Leonard) Brown of Covington, KY; two sister-in laws, Kathryn "Midget" Canada of Mansfield, Jeanette Walker of Bucyrus, Ohio and one brother-in-law John W. Brown Jr. of Mansfield, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents, Wilburn Floyd and Hazel Marcum Reed, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of the Wappner Funeral Directors, one hour prior to the Memorial Services, which will be held Thursday May 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. Pastor Frank Bolden will officiate. There will be a repast at The Life Celebration Center, 117 South Main Street, immediately following the service. Friends and family may visit at the home, 70 Redwood Road, Mansfield, Ohio, until the day of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ted’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
