Terry L. Kilgore ascended to the Lord, Tuesday, March 31, 2015, from Lexington Court Care Center. He was 79 years old. Terry was born July 3, 1935, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Hugh Kilgore and Leota (Wirick) Tuttle.
Terry retired from both the Mansfield Fire Department, where he was a firefighter, and Madison Schools, where he was employed as a bus driver. His servant's heart was evident in his many activities with Four Square Gospel Church.
In his spare time, Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and, most of all, traveling. He enjoyed visiting new places and making wonderful memories with his family and friends. He was a man of many talents and hobbies including: carving, painting, remote control airplanes, and also flying ultralight airplanes.
Above all, serving the Lord and caring for others were most important to him. His legacy will long be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Darlene Joseph Kilgore; three sons, Dan (Sue) Kilgore, Greg Kilgore and Todd Kilgore; five grandchildren, Ryan (Melissa) Kilgore, Josh Kilgore, Katy Kilgore, Cody Kilgore and Zack Kilgore; four great-grandchildren, Kooper Kilgore, Keatyn Kilgore, CJ Kilgore and Christian Kilgore; and a brother, Jim (Carol) Spangler.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015, in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. George Reece and Terry's son, Dan Kilgore, officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
