
Thelma F. Allen, 86, of Mansfield, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born February 21, 1921 in Butler, she was the daughter of Milo and Mary Brokaw Wheatcraft. Thelma was the owner and operator of Hidden Charm Beauty Shop from 1960 to 1989. She was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church. A loving mother with a great sense of humor, she was always available for her family. She enjoyed bowling, sponsoring the Hidden Charm Bowling Team and enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by a son, Ron Sowash of Mansfield; three daughters, Patricia Hall of SC, Marty Jo Mike Williams of Mansfield and Sherry Todd Bonnett of Las Vegas, NV; fourteen grandchildren, Thomas Sharon Ramsey, Diana Ramsey, Brian Katie Ramsey, all of SC, Chad Tracy Sowash of IN, Nichole Myers of Bellville, Matthew Kimmy Williams of Galion, Mickie Heidi Williams of Columbus, Michael Tina Williams, Jr. of LA, Jason Kempton of Las Vegas, NV, Trista Bonnett, Tiana Bonnett, Calissa Bonnett, Kira Bonnett and Cherlea Bonnett; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Rexford Peggy Scott of Mansfield; and sister, Velma Whatman of Mt. Vernon. Preceding her in death was her husband, Gordon D. Allen on March 16, 2002; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Raymond Nixon; brother and sister-in-law, William and Nancy Wheatcraft; and daughter-in-law, Sherry Sowash.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Donald Holzapple will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Deaf Services Center, 5830 N. High Street
