
Thelma C. Gabel Selman, age 91, of 11 Hoffer Avenue, died Sunday morning at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Selman was born August 22, 1910 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, and has lived in Mansfield since 1928. Before retiring, she and her husband Tefik owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Tavern for thirty years.
Surviving are two sons and three daughters-in-law, Hysen & Georgene Selman of Mansfield, Nazif & Patricia Selman of Downingtown, PA, and Carol Selman of Mansfield; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine L. Christy of Ashley, OH and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tefik Selman; parents, Joseph & Minnie Gabel; two sons, Carroll Eugene & Yusuf F. Selman; three sisters, Marguerite Gabel, Mary Elizabeth Armstrong and Dorothy Mae Meskunas; four brothers, Asel, Grover, Delbert and Joseph Wayne Gabel.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday, January 8, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at 10:30 am conducted by Rev. Cloyd Kress. Burial will be held in Mansfield Cemetery.
