
Thomas Anthony Brogan, 74, of Mansfield, died Thursday morning, July 28, 2005 at MedCentral/Mansfield after a brief illness. Born March 20, 1931 in Massillon, he was the son of Cornelius F. and Marie Hegney Brogan. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired from Shelby Mutual Insurance. Mr. Brogan was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He was a member of the North Central Insurance Adjusters Association, a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the VFW. A private pilot, Mr. Brogan loved traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline Nixon Brogan, whom he married July 17, 1954; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Anthony and Rebecca Brogan of Beckley, West Virginia, and Thomas Patrick and Yvonne Dee Brogan of Mansfield; two grandsons, Michael and David Brogan; one granddaughter, Gabrielle Alexis Brogan; one step grandson, Jordan Brogan; two great-grandsons, Michael A. Brogan III, and Kodiak M. Brogan; and one sister, Mary Deloris Maier of Massillon. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Kathleen Smith; and one brother, Neil Brogan.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, where Vigil Prayer Services will be held at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Tony Borgia officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church.
