

Thomas L. Hampton, Sr., age 71, passed away late Wednesday evening, September 12, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born August 19, 1941 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Elmer Lee and Stella (Keller) Hampton.
Tom retired from General Motors after 43 years of service in the tool and die department. He enjoyed gardening, building and flying model airplanes and enjoyed his Ham radio. Tom loved his dogs and his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife, Marie (Hawksworth) Hampton of Lexington; three daughters, Terri (Travis) Haeseker of Lexington, Elaine Bradley of Dayton, Angela (Mike) Wood of Hartley, IA; two sons, Thomas L. Hampton, Jr. of Lexington, Bruce (Sharon) Hampton of Sunrise, MN; fourteen grandchildren, Michael Hampton, Rebecca Hampton, Anthony Bradley, Ashley Whiting, Cody Whiting, Sarah (Marty) Pearson, Skye Hampton, Noah Hampton, Jessica Bradley, Ian (Amanda) Bradley, Brittney Hampton, Ryan Wood, Megan Wood and Caylie (aka Charlie) Haeseker; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Debbie Hampton; and several nieces, nephews and his canine friend, Moose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Hampton and sister, Judy Ferguson.
Friends and family may visit from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Celebrant Mark Dettmer presiding. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Richland County.
