Born June 23, 1927, in Palmyra, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bessie Elmina (Devilbiss) Mishey. She lived in Butler, Ohio, until she was 16, then the family moved to Fremont, California, where she graduated from high school. After graduation, the family moved back to Ohio and Tillie worked at the Dominion Company.
On January 16, 1948, she married Robert Nelson Reel who precedes her in death. They lived in Lexington, Ohio, and Tillie drove a school bus for Lexington Schools for 25 years. She was known as the “singing bus driver” as she would sing songs with her students on the ride. Tillie married Dick Taylor who also precedes her in death. They spent much of their time at Bay Point on Lake Erie then moved to Frostproof, Florida. After Dick passed away, Tillie moved back to Ohio.
Tillie was an avid sports fan and watched all sports on television but followed the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns and OSU football and basketball (both men and women) most closely.
She is survived by her son, Bob (Jan) Reel of Mount Gilead, Ohio; three grandchildren, Julia Niles, Lindsay Bucher, and Rob Reel; seven great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Gary (Susan) Taylor, Greg (Kathie) Taylor, and Becky Smith; four step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
