
Victoria Baker, 65 of 208 Marlow Rd. died January 18, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield following an extended illness. Mrs. Baker was born June 15, 1934 in Hardwood, Texas residing in the Mansfield area since the 1940's. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 56.
Surviving are her husband, Gordon Baker; one daughter, Juanita Slaughter of Ashland; three grandchildren, Denise and Nancy Tuttle and Travis Slaughter; one great-grandson, Jonathan Lee Blodgett; five brothers, Juan Garcia of Mansfield; Henry Garcia of Mt. Clemens, Michigan; Jesse and Ralph Garcia both of Fremont, Ohio; Joe Garcia of Clyde, Ohio; six sisters, Margaret Medina of Mansfield; Francis Thomas of New York; Guadalupe Navarro, Mary Root and Rose Swaisgood all of Fremont, Ohio; and Eloise Carte of Port Clinton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curz & Guadalupe Vasquez Garcia; her beloved grandson, John 'Bubba' Tuttle; and one brother, Ignasio Garcia.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pete's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
