Virginia Lay

Virginia J. Lay, 83, of Lexington died unexpectedly Thursday morning, March 28, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield. Mrs. Lay was born February 8, 1919 in Ontario, Ohio living in the area all of her life. She retired from Ideal Electric and White Westinghouse. She was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and her flowers.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Joan & Don Place of Mansfield and Franklyn & Donna Lay and Jennifer & Michael Boreman, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Aaron and Arica Boreman, Brian Place, Pam Maxwell and Julie Rhinehart; stepgrandchildren, Michael and John Teaters; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leland Cassel of Ontario and Richard Cassel of Dallas, Texas; and two sisters, Eleanir Kline of Ontario and Marge Stake of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick J. & Josephine Cass Cassel; her husband, Franklyn L. Lay; a brother, Gilford Cassel; and a sister, Geneva Wells.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday from 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to funeral services to be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Arthur Tobergte. Burial will be in Ontario Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Kingwood Center.
