Born Virginia Lee Osburn, March 21, 1936, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Hattie L. Osburn and Lee V. Osburn. She graduated from Winterville High School and was Valedictorian of her senior class of 1954.
After high school she went to Ohio State University and received a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Education in 1958. While in college Virgina met her future husband, Roy McPeek and they were married in 1958.
They moved to California for the weather and to teach school. Virginia took a job as a librarian and Roy took a job as a math teacher. Virginia retired in 2000.
They were active in three square dance clubs three to five times a week. After retirement Virginia and her husband Roy traveled both the continental United States and abroad. They both enjoyed traveling, especially to Scottland.
Virginia is survived by her sister, Catherine Osburn; granddaughter, Rhiana Leyden Kissenger; four great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roy D. McPeek; her sons, Scott and Steven McPeek; her father, Lee Osburn; and her mother, Hattie Osburn.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 12:00 PM at 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Virginia will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery.
