
Waldo James Reger, 87, of Mansfield, died Tuesday September 16, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Mr. Reger was born March 9, 1916 in Upshur County, West Virginia residing in the Mansfield area since 1936. He retired from Mansfield Tire & Rubber Co. in 1974 after 39 years of service. Mr. Reger was a member of Adario United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was a member of Venus Lodge #152, Chapter #28 Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, Grand Council #94 of Royal & Select Masons of Ohio, Mansfield Commandry #021 Knights Templar, Baku Grotto #02961 in Mansfield; and Mansfield Tire 25 year club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Cordie Reger; first wife, Ruth Abbott Reger; second wife, Erma Schiska Reger; one son, J. Dennis Reger; one brother, Ernie Reger and one aunt, Goldie Rigglemen.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Louis Starman of Largo, Florida; and Deborah and Charles Iams of Mansfield; four grandchildren and their spouses, Charles Jr. and Stacy Iams of Iowa; Grant and Claudia Iams of Michigan; Jennifer and Erick Archer of Mansfield; and Laura Starman of Largo, Florida; four beloved great-grandchildren, Hayden and Owen Archer of Mansfield; and Regan and Cheyenne Iams of Iowa; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Guy B. and Oneita Reger of Mansfield; Loyal and Tressie Reger of Queen Anne, Maryland; and Orvil and Leevern Reger of W. Virginia; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Genevieve Bunner; Madeline Hosaflock; Maxine and Oscar Sayer; and Goldie Tinsley all of W. Virginia; and Ada and Paul Tenney of Canal Fulton, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; one step son, John Schiska of Virginia; one step daughter, Carolyn Coffey of Mansfield; and five step grandchildren and numerous step great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Friday September 19, 2003 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with Masonic services being held at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Adario United Methodist Church. Military graveside services will be held in Adario Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
