Walker Rey Ramsay

Walker Rey Ramsay, 17, of Ashland, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 29, 2016 at University Hospital Samaritan Medical Center. Born August 28, 1998 in Ashland, he was the son of Greg Ramsay and Cassaundra (Dyer) Ramsay.

Walker had just finished his Junior year at Crestview High School where he was very active in sports playing football, basketball and baseball. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed four wheeling and hunting and had just recently started working on the family farm. He was a member of FFA and enjoyed showing pigs and lambs at the Ashland and Richland County Fairs. He enjoyed anything with engines and especially enjoyed working on old cars with his grandfather. He was very close to his sisters and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his mother, Cassaundra Ramsay of Canton; his father, Greg Ramsay of Ashland; two sisters, Bethany Ramsay and her fiance, Heath Gray of Ashland and Skylar Ramsay of Ashland; grandfather, Gary Ramsay of Greenwich; grandparents, Edward and Debra Adkins of Ashland; grandfather, Keith Dyer of Canton; grandfather, Mike Schmitz of Ashland; great grandparents, Bill and Irene Ramsay of Greenwich and Helen Adkins of Lebanon, Missouri; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jackie Schmitz; two uncles, Robbie Rey Ramsay and Sean Dyer; and an aunt, Paige Adkins.

Friends may call from 1 - 5 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at Crestview High School, 1575 State Route 96, Ashland. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Crestview High School conducted by Pastor Derek Hickman. Burial will follow in Adario Cemetery. Additional calling hours will also be held prior to the service on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
