

Born February 28, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio he was the son of Frank and Elenor (Lwoluck) Schindler. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in India and Africa. He retired from the Cleveland Athletic Club after 40 years of service as the maintenance supervisor. He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and enjoyed carpentry ~ carving walking sticks and making birdhouses. He was a creative and very outgoing gentleman who always made others feel special and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Larry) Huddleston of Ashland; two sons, Frank L. (Eydie) Schindler of Concord Township, Ohio and Walter L. (Patricia) Schindler, Jr. of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; two grandsons, Larry (Kim) Huddleston of Wooster and Michael (Maggie) Huddleston of Huron; a granddaughter, Julie Schindler of Barberton; four great grandchildren, Larry, Jr., Katelyn, Michael, Jr. and Joey; and a niece, Diane Frcho of Lyndhurst, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth (Poplowsky) Schindler; a brother, Emil; and two sisters, Elenor and Elsie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Ashland, Ohio celebrated by Father Rodney Kreidler. Friends may call one hour prior to the Mass, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., at the church on Wednesday.
