Walter retired from the City of Mansfield Street Department following over 30 years of service and enjoyed fishing.
Walter is survived by his wife Beverly (Potts) Sheffield; four daughters, Deborah "Debby", Tracey (Marshall), Juanita and Tori; a son, Anthony C. (Marissa); 19 grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Haynes and Abbie Sheffield; a brother, Wright Thomas (Daisy) Sheffield, Jr.; several nieces and nephews; and many family relatives in Alabama, California, Indiana and Toledo, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta; a son, Reginald "Demmie"; and a sister, Mariam.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield.
