Wanda was a loving, generous woman who would do anything to help someone in need. She was slightly ornery, and always sweet in her own special way. Wanda had a lifelong love of horses. She owned harness horses and truly enjoyed everything that came along with them. She loved going to the fair, spending time around the horses, and watching the horse races. She also enjoyed traveling to Sugar Creek with her late husband and working on her crafts, especially stained glass, where she enjoyed creating beautiful pieces to share with family and friends. Wanda lived in the Bellville area for much of her life and was a graduate of Bellville High School, Class of 1951, where she played trumpet in the school band. She was a longtime member of Little Washington Congregational Church, where she was active in the annual rummage sales over the years. Wanda leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a whole lot of love, and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Wallington and Teresa Carlson; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and a host of dear family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her beloved husband, Robert W. Martin; daughter, Kathy Byus; granddaughter, Tiffany Craft; brothers, Bernard and Richard Bachelder; and sisters, Janet Witchey and Evelyn Zimmerman.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 18, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, Ohio.
