

Wayne Watson, age 85, of Mansfield, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born November 16, 1926 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, he was the son of the late Bud and Ollie (Plunke) Watson.
A graduate of the Findlay College of Engineering in Kansas City, Missouri, he worked for Hartman Electric, Therm-O-Disc and Stevens Manufacturing. Wayne was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War serving with the U.S. Air Force. Wayne enjoyed being with his family and friends and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Hedy (Lamnek) Watson; son, Thomas (Amy) Watson; granddaughter, Elizabeth Watson; sister, Jewel Peterson of MO; and several nieces and nephews in Missouri. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Lawrence and Warren.
A funeral service conducted by Pastor Renato Siewert will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Friends and family may visit beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad.
