
Willard L. Whisler, 64, of 750 Shelby-Ontario Road died Monday November 29, 1999 at MedCentral Mansfield following a brief illness. Mr. Whisler was born May 9, 1935 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was employed with Ward Foods for 16 years, owner operator of Whisler Kwik Serv in Ontario for 13 years , and was semi-retired selling Whisler Insurance. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed family and friends and especially attending his grandsons ball games and participating in the Men's Sunday School Class at Berean Baptist Church. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather, who went to be with the Lord.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Illene Logan Whisler of Ontario, OH; two daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Fred Cooper of Lexington, OH and Valerie Whisler of Ontario, OH; one favorite grandson, Freddie Cooper of Lexington, OH; his mother, Irene A. Whisler of Mansfield; two sisters, Laurella Guntharp of Ontario, OH and Margaret Ruth of Mansfield; one brother, Tim Whisler of Bucyrus, OH; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil L. Whisler.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday, December 2, 1999 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 1999 at the Berean Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. David J. Pound and Rev. Bill Heaton. Military graveside services will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
