
William P. Cooper, 76, of Mansfield died unexpectedly Monday evening, November 3, 2003 at his home. He was born July 3, 1927 in New Boston, Ohio to Willis and Mary Psimer Cooper. He was a Mansfield area resident the past 55 years. He retired after 35 years of service with General Motors. William attended the Ontario Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He served his country with the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Webb Cooper; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Verlon Jordan of Ocala, Florida, Sherrie and Gary Harmon of Lexington, Ohio; four sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sallie Cooper of Columbus, Ohio, Lannie and Sharon Cooper, Gary and Peggy Cooper, all of Mansfield, Ron and Wyndi Cooper of Shallotte, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Reeder of Mansfield and Joyce Jordan of Ocala; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Joe and Phyllis Cooper of Mansfield and John Cooper of Tyler, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Coleen Jordan; and grandson, Corey Cooper.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, November 5 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Ronald Hyde, will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
