William R. Drescher, 87, of Mansfield, died Saturday, October 10, 2009. Born March 27, 1922, in Gros Hartmans Dors, Schliesen, Germany, he was the son of Richard Drescher and Gertrude Lienieg Drescher Finney. William was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Mansfield Liederkranz.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Koppen Drescher; children, Bill R. Drescher, Gary W. Drescher, Jack W. Cathy Farst Drescher; four grandchildren, Jeffrey W., Caitlin S., Courtney S. and Christine S. Drescher; cousin, Margret Langer; nephews, John Pat Fraifogl, Jerry Fraifogl and Jim Mary Fraifogl, and Richard Langer; and niece, Linda Langer Mathew Quinn. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Minni Drescher Fraifogl; brother-in-law, John Fraifogl; and cousin, Richard Langer.
Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
