

William C. Kollar departed earthly life on Monday after a long struggle with multiple myeloma. Bill was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Oleta (nee Cowherd) Kollar. He married Laura Mackey in 1967. Bill earned academic degrees from Western Reserve (BA), United Theological Seminary (MDiv) and Case Law School (JD). He practiced law privately and for a short time worked with the Ohio Public Defender's Office in Columbus. Bill pastored churches in Cleveland, Chippewa Lake, and Omaha, Nebraska. For six years he and Laura served on the Navajo Reservation in mission work. In 2009, Bill and Laura moved from Albuquerque, NM to Ashland to be near family.
In addition to his parents, Bill is survived by his wife of 46 years, Laura; son, William Joseph Kollar: grandsons Kristopher Andrew and James Edward Kollar, and numerous friends in his church family.
A memorial service will be held at Park Street Brethren Church on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM. An informal reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of North Central Ohio. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of William C. Kollar.
