William H. Lyons, 76, of Sheffield Lake, OH, died unexpectedly early Sunday September 19, 2004 at Lorain Community Health Partners, Lorain, OH. Born in Grahn, KY on March 15, 1928, he was the son of Isom and Ada Barker Lyons. He retired from Neer Manufacturing after working 23 years and was a member of the Church of God in Castalia, OH. He loved playing the five-string banjo and toured with Sons of the Gospel.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William and Lori Lyons of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Larry Swanger of Sheffield Lake, OH; four grandchildren, William David, Christina Marie, Lauryn, and Bret; two brothers, Otest Lyons of Michigan and Daniel Lyons of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Lyons in August 1993, three infant children, eight sisters and five brothers.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday September 21, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
