
William "Bill" Edward Malone, 61, of Ontario, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born August 13, 1956 in Cleveland and was baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cleveland on May 21, 1969.
Bill graduated from Galion High School in 1974 and attended Lincoln Technical School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He also studied Electrical Engineering at North Central State College. He was affectionately known to family and friends alike as "Eddie" and "Eddie Bo Peep." Bill worked as a Supervisor at Carter Machine Company in Galion, retiring after thirty years of service. He was a caring, loving and compassionate person who also had an ornery side. Bill loved to cook and make maple syrup with his buddies. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. He met his wife Berniece country line dancing over twenty years ago, and was always dear to his heart.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Berniece (Sand) Malone of Ontario; his mother, Dorothy (Cochran) Malone Silavent of Galion; four children, William Joseph (Emily) Malone of Lumberton, North Carolina, Nichole Malone (Edward Johnson) of Galion, Olivia Malone and Gwendolyn Malone both of Ontario; nine grandchildren; and two dogs, Biscuit and Smokey. He is also survived by step brothers and sisters, Chuck and Francine Silavent of North Olmstead, Ohio, Cynthia Gmiener of Cleveland, Ric and Shirley Romanof of Sarasota, Florida, Robert and Nancy Silavent of Palmetto, Florida and Charles and Susan Clapsaddle of Sarasota, Florida.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Ray Malone; his step father, Jason Silavent; a sister, Carol Malone; and his father-in-law, Millard Sand.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 South Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario Conducted by Pastor David Davenport. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
