
William Lee McGinty, 81, of Mansfield died Thursday, July 3, 2008. He shared with his nurse at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital, "It's time to go" and shortly thereafter, he went home to be with the Lord. He was a loving husband and father, a good provider and protector, and had a very generous heart. He was also a loving grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many---he will be greatly missed. William was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio, where he in turn, raised his family. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High and held many jobs throughout the years, also being known for his professionalism in painting houses. He traveled extensively in the USA and enjoyed many family trips across the country. He had a love for western movies and NASCAR races. He also enjoyed his "coffee, cookies and conversation". In his retirement, William was known as the shuttle driver at Whitey's Auto Mall and also worked for FEMA.
William was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Herrick McGinty. He is survived by two brothers, Clifford Rosemary McGinty and Ernest McGinty; a brother-in-law, Howard Luba Herrick; his son, Darryl McGinty; two daughters, Debbie McGinty and Linda Dotson Naugle; five grandchildren, Lance Tracy McGinty, Trent Marie McGinty, Kim McGinty, Brandon Dotson and Arion Dotson; and three great-grandchildren, Dantè and Julian McGinty and Addisyn Pittman.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 7, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Tim Slaughter. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
