William "Bill" David Schneider

William David Schneider, 82, passed away, Monday, October 30, 2017 at his daughter's home in Washington. He was born on December 8, 1934 in Mansfield, Ohio, the son of John C. and Madalene (Walborn) Schneider. Bill was a lifelong resident of Mansfield prior to moving to Washington in October 2016.

He was a member of the Army National Guard and served as Captain of the Ohio State Reformatory from which he retired. Bill was an avid fisherman and sportsman. Later in life, his favorite past time was sitting on his porch on Touby Road.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Hassinger Schneider; son, Michael (Marcia) Schneider of Mansfield; daughters, Dana DuPaix of Texas and Lori (Bob) Beiker of Washington; eight grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother John "Jack" Schneider; and a son, Scott Schneider.

Friends may call on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 10am-12pm at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. Funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Mark Thomas from Mansfield Alliance Church. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
