
Ms. Eby was born May 20, 1905 on a farm west of Savannah, the daughter of Jacob Daniel and Norma Brubaker Eby. She was a member of the Savannah Presbyterian Church where she became the first woman Elder, was the Church Treasurer and a Sunday School Teacher.
Ms. Eby moved to Ashland in 1923 and joined the First Presbyterian Church and became the first woman Elder, was a member of Circle #6, and the Goodwill Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Ashland Chapter #92 Order of Eastern Star, the National Secretary Association and the Senior Citizens Center. She was a secretary to many businesses including F.E. Myers, Co., C.E. Ward in New London, Fredo Travel Service, and the Ashland City Schools, where she was the secretary to the Elementary Supervisor and Superintendent, retiring in 1970. She was also a Real Estate Agent for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; half brother, Ora Eby; half sister, Floy Jeffers; three brothers, George, Neil, and Harold Eby; and four sisters, Helen Eby Pifer, Lois Eby Wolf, and Martha Eby Finley Benton. Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date with burial in Windsor Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 122 W. 3rd Street, Ashland, or the Southern Care Hospice, 775 Lexington Avenue, Suite M, Mansfield, Ohio 44907.
