Zerina Shopbell

Zerina Ellen Light Shopbell, 71, of Mansfield died early Tuesday morning, June 10, 2003 at Mifflin Care Center after an extended illness. She was born February 3, 1932 in Falmouth, Kentucky to Carl and Malissaanna Barlow Light and was an area resident the past 42 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Zerina was a member of Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed helping with church activities. She enjoyed being with her family and cooking. She was a member of Rosebud Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband, Lee F. Shopbell, whom she married June 3, 1961; a daughter and son-in-law, Yolanda K. and Daniel C. Mast of Bucyrus; three sons and two daughters-in-law, George M. Shopbell of Wooster, David L. and Cookie Shopbell of Ashland, and Mitchell B. and Wendy Shopbell of Mansfield; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, John and Joan Light, Carl and Joyce Light, Maxine and Terry Swaisgood, all of Ashland, Judy and Wayne Brown of Demossville, Kentucky, Mitchell and Doris Light of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky and Joye and William Green of Verona, Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Michael Lee Shopbell.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, June 13 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Fred Crank will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the church building fund.
