Brady was born on April 4, 2005, in Gunnison, Colorado, to Stoney and Jessica Matteson. From the very beginning, Brady stood out—rocking long hair since birth, a distinctive trait that became part of his identity.
He graduated from Marana High School, where strong friendships were formed and a passion for hands-on work took root. While there, he was an active member of the auto club, learned to weld, and earned first place in the Marana High School Pit Crew Challenge—an achievement that reflected dedication, skill, and teamwork.
Hardworking and driven, Brady began working as an electrician during high school and continued in that trade for two years. In March 2024, he began working at ASARCO’s Silver Bell Mine as a haul truck driver. Through determination and an exceptional work ethic, Brady quickly advanced to a heavy equipment operator, earning the respect of coworkers and supervisors. Brady was known for never being late to work—even making it on time after hitting a cow on the way in, a true reflection of dedication and reliability.
Brady had a deep love for cars and was an avid auto collector, especially proud of a Corvette C6 Z06 (even driving on the primitive dirt roads leading to his home). He also loved dirt biking and spending time outdoors, always embracing adventure and the thrill of the ride.
Brady treasured time spent with family, especially working alongside his parents to help build the family home—moments that reflected love and pride. He also deeply valued friendships and enjoyed the continued commitment of weekly Tuesday night dinners, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and connection. Known as the greatest and best friend to many, Brady was someone people could always count on.
Above all, Brady will be remembered for his genuine smile, quick wit, and kind soul—respectful, hardworking, and always willing to help anyone in need. His strong work ethic and genuine heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Brady was known for the familiar greeting, “What’s going on,” a phrase that will forever echo in the hearts of family and friends.
Brady is survived by parents, Stoney and Jessica Matteson; brother, Julian Torres (Hannah); maternal and paternal grandparents; aunts, uncles, and many cousins; along with countless friends and all whose lives were touched by him.
Brady was preceded in death by brother, Sean Michael Matteson, and beloved pets, Twitch and Sadie.
